About the Soloist
Jessie Reagen is a sought after cello soloist and
performer of chamber music. Ms. Reagen was the Illinois State winner for the
American String Teachers Association Competition, in addition to the
Rembrant Chamber Players Competition. She has been a finalist in The Julius
Stulberg International Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music
Competition for three consecutive years in addition to being a finalist in
other concerto competitions. Ms. Reagen won the Mannes Concerto Competition,
and as a result performed Shelomo, by Bloch, with the Mannes Orchestra in
February, 2000.
Ms. Reagen has premiered works by over 10 new composers in both New York
City and Boston and was selected as the principal continuo player for the
Mannes Bach Festival 2000 where she was featured on many of their concerts
around New York, including the final gala at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie
Hall. Ms. Reagen was accepted into the Pacific Music Festival 2000 in Japan
where she worked under Maestro’s Michael Tilson Thomas and Charles Dutoit.
She has also been a part of the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival as well as the
Meadowmount School of Music. Ms. Reagen’s principal teachers have included
Carter Brey, Hans Jorgen Jensen and Timothy Eddy. She is currently pursuing
a Professional Studies Diploma as a scholarship student of Timothy Eddy at
Mannes College of Music. Ms. Reagen has been a member of the Park Avenue
Chamber Symphony and the Park Avenue Chamber Players since 2000.
