Lucy Moses Students in a Suzuki Class

The Cause
The Elaine Kaufman Cultural Center's Lucy Moses School, one of the largest and most respected community schools of the arts in the country, offers private and group instruction in music, dance, theater and the visual arts to nearly 3,000 students of all ages, backgrounds, interests and abilities.

Scholarship support at the Lucy Moses School helps to open a lifetime of joy and achievement to young people who might not otherwise have secured the resources necessary to study the arts. Thanks to the generosity of the Lucy Moses School's scholarship donors: · Inner-city children receive Suzuki violin training at the School. · Over 25% of the School's private instrumental students receive financial aid. · Admission to the School's rigorous Diploma Program is effectively need-blind. · Children from low-income families are able to study dance and to participate in the popular Summer Musical Theater Workshop.
The Kaufman Center relies on its scholarship donors to ensure that the Lucy Moses School remains open to all regardless of economic resources.

The Benefit Concert
The Park Avenue Chamber Symphony designed a benefit concert for the School featuring Emily Deans, a student of the school. The event generated $25,000 for the school's scholarship fund.  Click here for more information about this concert.
