The Cause

The Cause
Founded in 1916 and known as The Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School since 1969, this internationally pre-eminent program brings serious musical instruction to artistically gifted students from 8 through 18 years old. As America’s premier classical music education institution for children, the Pre-College Division attracts students from across the country and around the world. It is a critical and treasured American institution.
Students accepted into the division have demonstrated their abilities at an early age, along with outstanding capabilities to work with focus and purpose. At the School, these young musicians enjoy an atmosphere where their artistic gifts and technical skills can grow and flourish.
The school, which convenes on Saturdays for 30 weeks between September and May, offers the highest quality training through its world-class faculty, facilities, diverse curriculum, and extraordinary student body. Attending Juilliard Pre-College demands the highest level of dedication and discipline from its students. In return, these students receive the education, preparation, tools, and camaraderie they need to pursue successful careers in music.
